The purpose of the "Collegio Universitario Gregorianum" is to carry through an experience of university life that promotes an organic formation of the person, who will acquire a valid professional competence, within the context of a Christian choice. Therefore, the Gregorianum is not meant to be just a "dormitory", but it also involves the students - not only in an exemplary fulfilment of their duties towards their academic career -in an internal cultural reflection, singly and in group work. In this way it aims to form professionals with a christian spirit - people that know how to use their acquired, qualified professional competence in the wider context of a complete concept of existence inspired by christian values. Admission to the Collegio, therefore, presupposes an initial maturity, a serious adhesion to the aforementioned principles and the readiness to live these principles in the community. The individual is invited to be greatly convinced in transferring the aims of the Collegio to his studies but it is only with a suitable environment turned towards the same goal, rather than prodding from above, that he will be encouraged to pursue these aims. Students are constantly reminded that, to continue staying in the Gregorianum, the active utilisation of the facilities and cultural occasions that the Collegio offers them is just as important as their academic progress.
